Early stage to growth · Europe & Nordics

Most early-stage companies don't have a product problem. They have a go-to-market problem.

Bifröst Ventures invests in early-stage technology and works alongside founders as a fractional sales leader — built on go-to-market experience from LinkedIn, Asana, DocuSign, and Deel.

Investing

Bifröst backs early-stage technology companies where the product is real and the market still has to be built. The interest is in founders solving problems they have lived with themselves, in categories where a small team can change how an entire industry works.

Investments are made directly, and as a limited partner and advisor at Likeminded, a Nordic venture fund built by and for entrepreneurs, writing €200K tickets at pre-seed and early stage. There I also work on deal sourcing, diligence, and go-to-market support for the portfolio.

  • Direct investment at pre-seed and seed
  • Limited partner and advisor at Likeminded
  • Tech-enabled businesses, no fixed sector focus
  • Preference for teams with unfair insight into their market

Fractional sales leadership

Scaling B2B revenue is a craft, and most early teams learn it expensively. I work as a fractional sales leader with companies that have found early traction and now need the motion behind it to become repeatable — usually somewhere between the first paying customers and the first real sales team.

A large part of that work is geography. Companies with a proven motion in the US or UK often assume it transfers wholesale to Europe, and it rarely does — buying cycles, procurement, data requirements, and how far a reference travels between markets all shift at the border. I help new solutions land in Europe and compound from there, usually with the Nordics as the bridgehead: small, fast-moving, unusually willing to buy from an unknown vendor, and a credible proof point for the rest of the continent.

The engagement is hands-on and time-boxed. The goal is to leave behind a team that no longer needs me.

  • Sales process, pipeline hygiene, and forecasting
  • Outbound and pipeline generation motion
  • Hiring, ramping, and coaching the first AEs and managers
  • Quota, territory, and compensation design
  • Interim VP Sales cover during a search
  • European go-to-market and growth for international businesses

Advisory

Shorter-form work for people who need a second opinion from someone who has run the motion rather than only modelled it. That means founders weighing a go-to-market decision, investors sizing up a company's commercial engine, and funds looking for a read on where a category is actually heading.

  • Go-to-market diligence on prospective investments
  • Board seats and standing advisory relationships
  • Sales organisation reviews and diagnostics
  • Category and competitive briefings
  • European and Nordic market-entry reviews

About

Mikkel Preisler

Sales leader, advisor, investor · Copenhagen

Twenty years selling professional services and software — most of it spent building the teams that opened new European markets for companies that had already proven themselves somewhere else.

I started at PwC running bids and business development across EMEA, then spent five years at LinkedIn: first as an account executive in the Nordics, twice a global top performer, then leading a team across Central and Eastern Europe from Dublin. After that, DocuSign, taking mid-market into Continental Europe, and Asana, where I built the EMEA enterprise business from nothing, landed the region's largest deals to date, and doubled the team through the IPO. Then Omnidocs as Head of Sales and Partnerships, and Deel, where I was contracted to build the Nordics mid-market team and now lead DACH.

The investing side runs alongside it. I am a limited partner and advisor at Likeminded, scout in the Nordics for Id4 Ventures, and have served on the boards of Lendino and Miuros (sold to Dixa). Bifröst Ventures is where all of it now sits.

I work in Danish, Swedish, English, German, and French — which is usually why the European conversations get further than they otherwise would.

No pitch and no obligation. Bring the thing you are stuck on — a pricing question, a hiring plan, a raise, a deal that keeps stalling — and we will get into it properly. If I am not the right person, I will usually know someone who is.
